It was one of those hot, sweltering days in Florida with hundreds of families lined up in the church parking lot picking up their monthly food allowance from the church food bank. Only this week it was a HOLIDAY EVENT, and a national animal rescue group known as the GREYHOUND FOUNDATION had shared their donations and FOOD4PETS program with the needy pets in Citrus County by giving out HOLIDAY dinners to the needy animals of the community.

Seated in the middle of everything was Beverly Sebastian, Director of the Foundation, greeting each of the animals as they came by. As people gathered food for their pets, someone handed her a note marked URGENT on it.Busy with so many grateful people, she laid the note aside.
Several minutes later something made her pick it up. “Please help me save my dog,” it read. He is scheduled to be euthanized at 4:00 today! The shelter is charging me several hundred dollars with his impound and boarding fees, and with him not being neutered or having his shots, I just don’t have the money. He is my best friend, and I can’t stand the thought of him being killed cause I ain’t got the money to save him. Please, can you help me?
